OPTIMISM , STRENGTHS and POSSIBILITIES

At Chepstow Learning we see each child as having their own individual method of learning that requires a unique and structured program to address weaknesses and encourage strengths. Rather than viewing learning difficulties as problems we see them simply as differences that need to be investigated and understood so that the most effective method of learning can be developed and implemented.

Optimism is fundamental to our approach. We avoid labels such as Dyslexia or ADD because they tend to oversimplify learning problems, they fail to recognise child strengths and they are pessimistic because they imply it's always going to be one way.

We focus on description rather than labels -  detailed descriptions with much greater specificity about where the breakdown is occurring.

If your child is having difficulty acquiring reading, writing, spelling, or math skills, contact us and begin the process of understanding the learning style of your child.

Our process begins with a consultation and research into your child's past academic history. Following this, you can choose to go forward with a full educational assessment that examines how your child learns and will identify any specific difficulties there may be. Using the assessment results and other information that has been gathered, a unique structured program is devised to address your child's specific difficulties. The program is then implemented by a trained specialist. Our methods produce profound changes in both academic success and self-esteem.

Below are words from the parent of a child who had received tuition from our founder, Karen Shaw:

"Our son has gone from being a child who struggled with reading below his expected grade level to someone who has confidence and enjoyment in reading above grade expectations. Your individual help has resulted in outstanding gain."
Please contact us if you think your child is having difficulties at school and could benefit from our help.
